  • 1/2 teaspoon ground turmeric

  • 1 cup quick cooking rice
  • 1 (15oz) can S&W® New Orleans Style Savory Sides (do not drain)
  • 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika

Ingredients

  • 1 cup chicken broth or water
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground turmeric
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 cup quick cooking rice
  • 1 (15oz) can S&W® New Orleans Style Savory Sides (do not drain)
  • 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika

Directions

In small saucepan, bring broth, turmeric and garlic powder to a boil. Stir in rice. Cover; remove from heat. Let stand 5 minutes. Meanwhile, mix beans and paprika in medium saucepan; cook over medium heat 5 minutes or until thoroughly heated; stirring once or twice. Spoon yellow rice into serving dish. Top with beans.

Tip: Smoked paprika enhances the smoky flavor of the beans. It is a nice addition to any recipe where you would like a little bit of smoke flavor. You can substitute regular paprika, but the smoky flavor won’t be as pronounced.
