Heat oven to 350°F. Spray 2 & 1/2-quart baking dish with cooking spray. In 12-inch nonstick skillet, cook bacon over medium heat 4 to 5 minutes or until crisp, stirring occasionally. Remove from skillet. Add onion to drippings in skillet. Cook 3 to 4 minutes or until onion is tender, stirring occasionally. Stir in barbecue sauce, preserves, water and whiskey. Bring to a full rolling boil. Stir in beans and bacon. Spoon mixture into baking dish. Bake 30 to 35 minutes or until bubbly, stirring occasionally.
Tips: You can use any smoked bacon for this recipe.
If you prefer a nonalcoholic ingredient, substitute apple juice for the bourbon.
